Haleakala was an important part of my growing up on the Island of Maui.
As a child, the first view that I encountered when I went outdoors, was of Haleakala, The mountain loomed largely ahead, from my Wailuku home.
My eyes would naturally look up to the Haleakala Mountain which gave me encouragement and inspiration.
To this very day, I continue to draw strength from seeing Haleakala as it was, and still is, an inspiration to me.
Haleakala has withstood the test of time, and continues to stand so proud and tall.
SUN SALUTATION AT HALEAKALA, honors the mountain with its rising sunrise.
In Yoga workouts, the Sun Salutation Sequence, is a posture that honors the sun. Likewise, in my painting, you can see that the cinder cones, and even the rocks in the crater, give honor to the rising sun.
My name is Clare Ventura. I was born and raised on Maui, Hawaii, and I currently live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have been painting for many years, and now, within the last few years, I have been selling my art work . I enjoy painting in the the Fauvism style, but have attempted other styles as well. It's all fun. I quite often paint whatever catches my fancy at the moment. I have painted many diverse subjects, and I am currently painting landscapes in Hawaii.
