I took a photo of this area of Opihikao on a day drive with family and friends.
I decided to paint this landscape from the photo that I took.
This is a true old-Hawaii-area on the Big Island.
There are lovely coconut trees here, very close to the cliff-edge.
These five trees caught my eye: (especially the two trees that criss-cross each other).
My painting is a delightful remembrance of a day well spent in Opihikao.
My name is Clare Ventura. I was born and raised on Maui, Hawaii, and I currently live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have been painting for many years, and now, within the last few years, I have been selling my art work . I enjoy painting in the the Fauvism style, but have attempted other styles as well. It's all fun. I quite often paint whatever catches my fancy at the moment. I have painted many diverse subjects, and I am currently painting landscapes in Hawaii.
